In WP2: branding of the region Vital Rural Area helps to build a consistent and positive picture of a project partner's region as an attractive place to live, work, invest and relax in. This is accomplished by means of an integrated professional branding and marketing approach based on modern communication methods and ICT technologies. main components in WP2

  • to fine-tune the character/identity, key qualities and potentials in a region
example: an inquiry into the perceptions of 500 business people (investors, contractors and employers) in a participating country to determine their perceptions of the region as a place to do business
  • to develop a brand (story + marketing strategy)
example: to create an online message bank to deliver specially developed messages to closely targeted audiences, including phrases, images or photos which can be downloaded free of charge by businesses, organisations and individuals to support their (commercial) activities
  • to communicate the brand inside the region to inhabitants, companies and organisations
example: to set up a media campaign (newspapers, local television, radio, web portal) for inhabitants to make them aware of the possibilities of their regions
  • to promote the region outside the region using the brand and marketing strategy
example: to build a virtual version of a regional town or region, accessible via the internet, to show its attractiveness to (future) inhabitants. second live in the region
  • to monitor the activities, results and impact of the branding and marketing approach. image evolution
 

The experiences and results of the pilot activities within WP2 are used to draft a working standard how to brand a region in a structured and professional way. The three working methods of WP1, 2 and 3 will be converted into the rural power pack RPP, a general working method to set up projects on regional development in other regions and in other periods.
